I am not someone who normally reaches out to a group of people and asks for attention, time and money. But this is important. This is worth the two minutes it’ll take you to read it. 

A few weeks ago, my best friend’s mother, Claudia, had a severe, unexpected stroke. She was alone when she had it, and wasn’t found until two days later, which was well outside the window of the medicines that actually make a difference in these situations. It left her paralyzed on the right side of her body and without the ability to speak. She still retains most of her mental faculties. 

Claudia has dedicated her life to taking care of others. After a 40 year nursing career, she had just started a new job and as such didn’t have insurance when she had her stoke. Of course, getting insurance after an event like this is very nearly impossible. While my friend and her sister are exploring every single option they have in their arsenal (government assistance and otherwise) it still stands that they need some financial help.
